Shanti Devi Mittal Foundation, under Shanti Devi Mittal Foundation, played a vital role during the Covid-19 pandemic by supporting communities through multiple relief initiatives. Since February 2020, the organization actively distributed essential items like ration, masks, and sanitizers while also organizing multiple free vaccination camp, benefiting over 1500 people. Their efforts ensured safety protocols were followed while reaching maximum people in need.
During the peak of the second wave, when hospitals faced shortages of beds and oxygen, the organization stepped forward by providing 400 Covid quarantine medicine kits and supplying oxygen concentrators to patients. More than 20–25 oxygen machines were arranged, helping over 50 individuals in critical situations. Alongside this, awareness campaigns were conducted to educate people about hygiene, social distancing, and preventive measures.
The foundation also made a significant impact through large-scale mask distribution, providing over 1 lakh reusable masks, especially during lockdown when supplies were limited. Additionally, they distributed 2000+ sanitizer bottles and free food ration to underprivileged communities. Door-to-door awareness drives further helped daily wage workers and vulnerable groups stay informed and protected.
Beyond health support, Shanti Devi Mittal Foundation focused on livelihood generation by providing employment to women through mask-making, producing nearly 1 lakh masks during lockdown. Financial assistance was also extended to struggling artists and performers. Overall, the organization contributed not only through direct aid but also by empowering communities, earning recognition as “Corona Commando” for their dedicated service.
